Wimberly Homes began in 2005 in Shreveport, Louisiana. We are able to serve many areas, including Caddo, Bossier, and Desoto Parish. Wimberly Homes takes pride in maintaining our reputation for being trustworthy and providing a quality home. We believe in adhering to the highest standard in the construction industry.

Wimberly Homes has established communities throughout Northwest Louisiana. Potential homeowners have the option to purchase a ready to move in home or select from a variety of plans and lots available.

Construction Process

At Wimberly Homes, we understand that building a new home can be a daunting task. That's why we have a streamlined process to make it as easy as possible for you. From preconstruction design to on-site consultations, we'll guide you every step of the way.

Step 1 - Process

Pre-Construction and 
Permit Application

You've made the big decision.

  • Purchase Agreement has been signed and you are on your way to path to homeownership

  • You will meet with our New Home Design Specialist to make exterior and interior color and material selections on the home.

  • Our construction team will request all required building permits.

  • The lot is cleared.

Foundation

Plotting, Plumbing, and Pouring

  • Foundation formwork is laid out as per plot map and plans, then it is surveyed.

  • Rough plumbing is installed and inspected by the city inspectors.

  • The form is trenched and all the structural components are installed.

  • Foundation is inspected by the city inspectors and then the concrete is poured!

Framing

Your house and your dreams begin to take shape.

  • Lumber is delivered and our carpenters frame all walls, ceiling joist and rafters.

  • Roof decking is installed and covered.

  • Windows, exterior doors, exterior trim, siding and fireplaces (community specific) are delivered and installed.

Interior and Exterior Rough

The interior starts to take shape. Many inspections ensure everything is done just right.

  • Heating and air conditioning rough-in is completed.

  • Plumbing top out is completed.

  • Electrical rough-in is completed.

  • Cable, phone and alarm wiring are installed.

  • Shingles are installed.

  • Framing, mechanical, plumbing and electrical are inspected by the city.

Interior and Exterior Finish, Part 1

Finishing from top to bottom.

  • Insulation and Drywall are installed.

  • The walls and ceiling are textured after the drywall has been taped and sanded.

  • Cabinets are installed and counter tops are measured.

  • Interior doors, crown molding, trim and the closet shelving are installed.

Step 4 - Anchor

Interior and Exterior Finish, Part 2

Interior selections are going in!

  • The first coat of exterior and interior paint is completed.

  • Tile flooring, counters and backsplash are installed.

  • The exterior brick and stucco are installed.

  • The driveway and patio extensions are poured.

Interior and Exterior Finish, Part 3

Send in the fixtures!

  • HVAC condenser unit is installed along with the fixtures and thermostat.

  • Plumbing and light fixtures are installed along with appliances.

  • Flooring is completed and all hardware is installed on doors and cabinets.

  • Final grading to the lot is finished.

  • Stucco color is applied.

  • Inspections are called to get approval for permanent electric and gas meters.

Detail Finish

Let’s turn on the lights!

  • Final coat of paint is applied on the interior and exterior.

  • Landscape is installed.

  • Power, gas and water are turned on and all systems are started up.

  • Final inspections are called on the home to get the Certificate of Occupancy.

  • Our team does a quality control inspection and the home is cleaned.

Closing

Passing of the keys!

  • Home Buyer Orientation will take place where you, the buyer, will walk the home with the Project Manager and learn the ins and outs of the home as well as create a punch list of items. You can also have an independent inspection at this time.

  • Now is the time to contact the electric, gas, water, cable/internet company and other utilities.

  • The day prior is the Home Buyer Final Confirmation Walk Through, where you, the buyer, will confirm all items noted at the orientation are complete and the home is 100%!

  • Finally! After months of planning, you will own your new home.
